The scope of his work is big, containing a compelling body of work and a combination of different styles of photography including sports action, fashion and photojournalism. Avery's inquisitive camera eye is interesting because it’s uniquely his own expression. His images reflect contemporary culture and aspects of individual behavior. Many of his photographs are about the people, places and waves that drew him to the ocean in the first place.
